RYOKANS providing rooms with private open-air baths
Book Hyoe Koyokaku in Arima Onsen (Hyogo)―― An old and distinguished hot spring ryokan named four hundred years ago by Hideyoshi Toyotomi, a famous Japanese warrior. Because the spring water is very rich in iron and changes to a brown color when it comes into contact with oxygen in the air, the spring color is brown.
Access: One hour 5 minutes by bus from Kansai International Airport to Kobe Sannomiya Bus Terminal, then 30 minutes by bus to Arima Onsen and 2-min shuttle bus ride (or 5 minutes on foot) from there

Top hot spring resort – Arima
One of Japan’s oldest hot springs, and one of the three most famous hot springs in Japan. The “Nihon Shoki” (a collection of ancient myth) it was recorded to have been discovered by two deities. Many past Emperors of Japan have visited here since some 1,500 years ago. The hot spring combines a plentiful amount of components, and is rare even on the worldwide scale.
