Book Yamatoya Honten in Dogo Onsen (Ehime)―― Ryokan with a 140 year history. It features a 3,000 year old hot spring. The spring is one of Japan’s oldest hot springs, and even appears in Japanese myth. The ryokan also features a traditional Japanese Noh play stage.

Top hot spring resort – Dogo
With 3,000 years of history, this is one of Japan’s oldest hot springs. It even appears in the “Nihon Shoki” (a collection of ancient myths). Many past Emperors of Japan have visited here starting 1,500 years ago, including Emperor Showa. It also is home to Yushinden, the only bathing room in Japan specially set aside for the Imperial Family.
