Book Hotel Ofutei in Tomonoura Onsen (Hiroshima)―― This onsen ryokan is located at Tomonoura, which is a port town known as the inspiration for Ponyo, a famous animated film by Studio Ghibli. The 44 guest rooms are divided into six types, including a suite equipped with a Jacuzzi bath and rooms that come with open-air onsen baths, and all of them feature a commanding ocean view. In addition to the sea-facing, gender-segregated large public baths (with open-air baths), there are two gender-segregated open-air baths on the rooftop, and two rental open-air baths outside the rooms for private rooms. All hot spring baths offer spectacular scenery of the ocean. Delicious Japanese food making use of ingredients from the Seto Inland Sea is served at a cabin restaurant or your own room.
