RYOKANS providing rooms with private open-air baths
Book Kinsuikan in Miyajima Onsen (Hiroshima)—— Founded in 1912, Kinsuikan is a long-established onsen ryokan on the island of Miyajima, a World Heritage Site in Japan. It is only a three-minute walk to the Itsukushima Shrine. There is a total of 39 guest rooms, of which some face the Seto Inland Sea and some face the town of Miyajima. Kinsuikan has its own spring source, from which a special type of seawater-containing spring water called “Shio-yu Onsen” (lit. “tide bath hot spring”) gushes. You can experience it at the rooms with semi-open-air hot spring baths and gender-segregated large public baths. As to dining, Kinsuikan serves delicious food including oyster, which is a specialty of Hiroshima, and a local brand of wagyu (high-class Japanese beef) called Hiroshima Beef.
