Book Matsuya Sensen in Awara Onsen (Fukui)—— It is a massive ryokan with superb facilities. Sen-no-Kobore-Yu, which is one of the most spacious public baths in the Hokuriku region, has a large and luxurious male bathing area, and a female counterpart boasting a wide variety of bathtubs. Among the 120 guest rooms, the special “Tokiwasure Hanareza” rooms on the second floor are equipped with private open-air onsen baths.
Access: 15 minutes by bus from Komatsu Airport to Komatsu Station, then 20 minutes by JR Limited Express to Awara Onsen Station and 10-min shuttle bus ride from there (Advance booking required)
