Book Nonohanatei Komurasaki in South Izu Shimoda Onsen (Shizuoka) —— Despite its convenient location that is just a three-minute walk from the Izukyu-Shimoda Station, this five-room ryokan has a calm atmosphere. All guest rooms are washitsu (traditional Japanese-style rooms), and each has an indoor cypress bath and an open-air izu-ishi (a type of precious stone unique to Izu) bath. Guests can enjoy kaiseki meals in their own rooms.
Access: Two hours 40 minutes by JR Limited Express from Tokyo Station to Izukyu-Shimoda Station, then 3 minutes on foot
