Book Oyado Uchiyama in East Izu Kogen Highlands Onsen (Shizuoka)—— Situated at the foot of Mount Omura, this ryokan only has 6 detached two-storey guest rooms in its expansive grounds with an area of 3,300 square metres. All rooms come with an indoor onsen bath and an open-air hot spring bath that commands a spectacular view of the mountains and the sea. Dinner is offered at an individual dining space, while breakfast is served at your own room, and both dinner and breakfast are authentic Japanese-style kaiseki meals. You can feel like putting on the ritz with doing nothing.

Access: Two hours 5 minutes by JR Limited Express from Tokyo Station to Izu-Kogen Station, then 8 minutes by taxi
