Shimoda Central Hotel

Book Shimoda Central Hotel in South Izu Onsen (Shizuoka)—— It is an isolated ryokan located in an undeveloped woodland area near a village that is twenty-minute drive either from the Izukyu-Shimoda Station or the Kawazu Station, which is famous as a sakura (cherry blossoms) viewing spot. All 39 rooms are equipped with private hot spring baths, and 14 of them also have their own gardens and open-air baths facing the mountains. In the large public baths, gender-segregated open-air baths surrounded by the woodland’s greenery are also popular.

Access: Two hours 40 minutes by JR Limited Express from Tokyo Station to Izukyu-Shimoda Station, then 20 minutes by shuttle bus (Advance booking required)
