Book Yumoto Kissho in Naruko Onsen (Miyagi)——Perched on a hilltop, the ryokan provides panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The ryokan includes 50 guest rooms, some offering sweeping views of the mountain range, along with special rooms and detached accommodations featuring hot springs that overlook the garden. In addition to the gender-segregated large baths, four complimentary private baths are available. Dinner features traditional Japanese kaiseki dining with local flavors, while breakfast is served as a Japanese and Western buffet.
Access: Two hours 10 minutes by JR Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Furukawa Station, then 45 minutes by JR Rikuu East Line to Naruko Onsen Station and 2-min shuttle bus ride from there (Advance booking required)
