Book Yumoto Saito Ryokan in Shirahone Onsen (Nagano)―― As an old ryokan established in 1738, it is situated in the Shirahone Onsen which is popular as a hidden hot spring resort deep in the mountains. The milky white spring water at the large public baths, open-air baths, and rental baths outside the rooms for private use comes from the ryokan’s own spring source. There are 51 guest rooms in three building linked by a cloister, and all rooms command a splendid view of the magnificent nature.
Access: Two hours 40 minutes by JR Limited Express from Shinjuku Station to Matsumoto Station, 30 minutes by Kamikochi Line from Matsumoto Station to Shinshimashima Station, then 55 minutes by bus to Shirahone Onsen and 6-min walk from there
