Ryokan Shinsen

Book Ryokan Shinsen in Takachiho Onsen (Miyazaki)—— At this ryokan, located about 8 minutes by car from the Takachiho Gorge, traditional elements including buildings with tatami-matted flooring and beautiful Japanese gardens create a refined Japanese ambiance. Despite the absence of a real hot spring, all rooms come with their own unique baths, such as open-air baths facing a large garden, or open-air baths in a separate tsubo-niwa (a type of very small, independent garden in Japan). Both dinner and breakfast are authentic Japanese kaiseki meals served in private dining rooms. Although a genuine hot spring is lacking, this ryokan is worthy of mention not only for its proximity to famous tourist attractions, but also because artistic baths designed to make you feel like you’re actually soaking in a hot spring are available in all guest rooms.
