Gero Onsen is a famous hot spring area and is celebrated as one of the “Three Great Hot Springs of Japan,” alongside Arima Onsen in Hyogo Prefecture and Kusatsu Onsen in Gunma Prefecture. It is a lively hot spring town centered around the Hida River, and the surrounding mountainous countryside offers natural beauty and charm.
Access is also convenient as Gero Onsen is approximately 100 minutes from Nagoya Station via the JR Limited Express “Hida” and it takes 45 minutes to get to the famous historic town Hida-Takayama.
