The Sulfur Valley Garden Large Public Bath is one of the most expansive hot spring baths in Japan, and boasts 14 spring sources and a great volume of natural onsen water which pours forth from the grand bath. There are four types of spring qualities – sulfur, alum, sodium and iron – and each has different medicinal benefits. The big bath has men-only, women-only and unisex areas. With the steamy white-coloured spring water, you don’t have to care about others’ eyes even in the unisex area, where many families and couples enjoy nude bathing together.

*From 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm, the mixed open-air baths are for ladies only.
